Preparations enter final stage
Preparations for the Cyprus elections 2026 are in full progress ahead of Sunday’s parliamentary vote, according to the Office of the Electoral Commissioner.
Head of the Elections Service Menelaos Vasileiou said the first results are expected around 18:30, about half an hour after polls close, starting from smaller polling stations.
Timeline for results announcement
Officials estimate that by 20:30 to 21:30, the allocation of parliamentary seats per party will become clear, forming a preliminary picture of the election outcome for the Cyprus elections.
Final indications regarding which candidates secure seats are expected to emerge around 01:30 after midnight.
Voting process and logistics
Ballot boxes will be delivered to polling station presidents on Friday, while overseas voting centres will receive materials a day earlier.
Authorities emphasise that all procedures are on track to ensure the smooth conduct of the Cyprus elections 2026.
Polling stations abroad
A total of 13 polling stations will operate abroad, including five in Athens, three in Thessaloniki, four in London, and for the first time in a parliamentary election, one in Brussels.
The expansion is intended to facilitate voting for Cypriots living overseas.
