Paphos dams water inflow remains negligible after rainfall

Date:

No notable water inflow reached Paphos dams despite recent intense rainfall and flooding, particularly in the Polis Chrysochous area.

Paphos District Engineer of the Water Development Department, Haris Kasioulis, told the Cyprus News Agency that the rainfall over the past three days proved highly beneficial for agriculture because the soil absorbed most of it.

Soil saturation needed first

Kasioulis explained that once the ground becomes fully saturated, any further rain will start flowing into the dams.

No significant inflow has been recorded at any local reservoirs, including Argaka, Evretou, Pomos, and the small Agia Marina Chrysochous dam.
