Paphos boat passenger injury prompts rescue operation

Authorities are responding to a Paphos boat passenger injury, after a man was hurt on board a mini-cruise vessel in the coastal area of Paphos.

According to reports, the incident occurred during a charity mini-cruise organised by PASYKAF, departing from Kato Paphos harbour towards the tourist area of Geroskipou. The passenger is believed to have fallen from a staircase inside the vessel.

The Cyprus Ports and Marine Police, together with the ambulance service, launched an ongoing operation on Monday to transfer the injured man safely to shore. Members of the marine police reached the vessel and evacuated him for medical care.

The Paphos boat passenger injury drew attention as the mini-cruise was part of a long-running charitable tradition in the region. Further details on the condition of the injured passenger have not yet been released.
