Omonoia 48 and ELAM join forces against the national fire threat

Date:

In a rare and moving image of solidarity, two groups of people from entirely opposing worldviews stood side by side in the effort to battle the wildfire in the mountainous region of Limassol.

As shown in a photograph circulated on social media, one group consisted of members of Omonoia 1948, known for its leftist-Marxist orientation. The other group included supporters of ELAM, a party known for its strong nationalist stance.
Also visible in the photo is ELAM MEP Geadis Geadis.

As the flames spread rapidly, the two groups joined forces with firefighters and volunteers, working side by side to protect lives and property.

Faced with a firestorm threatening their shared homeland, there were no ideological camps—only people confronting a common danger.

This moment serves as a reminder that, in times of crisis, what unites us is stronger than what divides us.
A photograph that could become symbolic: two opposing worlds, united against a common threat.
