Oil prices are continuing to decline internationally after reaching their highest levels on 15 September.
On Wednesday morning, Brent crude was trading at around $99 a barrel, below the $100 mark and about 9% lower than the $108.75 peak reached a week earlier on 15 September.
US crude oil benchmark WTI was trading at $89.73, around 15% below the $105.83 level reached the previous week.
Prices remain higher year-on-year
Despite the recent decline, oil prices remain around 5–7% higher than a month ago.
Compared with September last year, Brent is up by 43%, while WTI has increased by 38%.
The latest movements come after a sharp rise in international oil prices earlier in September.
