Occupied areas “parliament” approves optical fiber protocol

Date:

Session approval and votes

The “protocol” passed with 27 votes in favour and 20 against. The session saw intense disagreements among members, highlighting political divisions in the occupied administration.

Security measures and protests

Security forces were deployed outside the building early in the morning, blocking entrances and exits with barriers.

Groups of union members gathered outside the “parliament” were forced to disperse following a 60-day ban on gatherings in the area imposed by the “cabinet.” Some representatives were able to observe the session from the public gallery.

Political reactions

Despite public opposition, the protocol ultimately secured approval, including support from a majority of the “coalition government” legislators. The agreement has generated significant controversy within the occupied areas.
