The body of a man recovered on Wednesday afternoon during the search of the sunken catamaran is believed to belong to Ismail Kurt, one of two Turkish Cypriots who had been listed as missing.
Turkish Cypriot news websites Haber Kıbrıs and Gerçek reported that the identity was established following the necessary examinations.
Kurt had been among the 20 people initially reported missing following the ferry disaster off Kyrenia.
Search operation continues
It has not yet been announced whether another body has been recovered from the sunken vessel.
The death toll from the disaster has now risen to nine, while 19 people remain missing, according to the latest figures cited in the report.
The passenger ferry, Filo Jet, capsized and sank off the coast of Kyrenia on 30 August while travelling towards Taşucu, Turkey. The vessel was carrying 267 people, including eight crew members.
Search and recovery operations are continuing, with specialised equipment being used because the wreck lies at a depth of more than 500 metres.
