The “Yes, I Can” photo exhibition, a national social campaign dedicated to the strength and spirit of Cyprus’ Paralympic athletes, officially opened at Eleftheria Square in Nicosia. It was initiated by the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation (KBF) with the strategic support of the Cyprus National Paralympic Committee (CNPC). The Municipality of Nicosia joined the campaign as an official partner.
The opening was addressed by the Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, the CNPC President, Andreas Georgiou, and the Founder of KBF, Kateryna Biloruska. The ceremony ended with a symbolic ribbon-cutting photo with the Mayor, the Founder and the athletes.
“We see the strength of the words, “Yes, I can”, brought vividly to life. We see determination instead of doubt. And individuals whose stories remind us that the human spirit is capable of far more than we can often imagine. Because the message we celebrate today is simple. Yes, I can. Yes, you can. Yes, we can”, said Charalambos Prountzos, Mayor of Nicosia.
Kateryna Biloruska, Founder of the Foundation, also shared a few heartfelt words about what this exhibition means to her and the community.
“Yes, I Can” is not just a slogan. It is a statement of courage and a reminder that every challenge can be turned into an opportunity,” said Kateryna Biloruska. “Each portrait is a story of determination, talent and human dignity. Through sport, we show that determination beats limitation.”
Five of the campaign’s athletes attended and met with the public:
- Loizos Chrysanthou (para swimming),
- Kyriakos Demetriou (para archery),
- Marios Lambrou (para archery),
- Panagiotis Kkomor (para archery),
- Andreas Charalambous (para powerlifting).
They were joined by members of the CNPC leadership. The CNPC was represented by President Andreas Georgiou, General Secretary Marianna Hadjiandoniou, board member Demetris Kadis, Technical Advisor Savvas Lakeridis and Administrator Apostolos Michael.
“It’s incredible because it promotes knowledge, understanding of what para-athletes actually do and what we go through. Because “Yes, I Can” is not just a slogan, it is a statement of courage, a reminder that every challenge can be turned into possibility,” said Kyriakos Demetriou, Para Archery Athlete.

The President of the CNPC, Mr. Andreas Georgiou, also addressed the audience:
“This partnership with the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation allows us to showcase the human side of professional para-sports — the grit, the sweat, and the triumph. This exhibition helps break down social barriers and invites every citizen to celebrate the strength of the Cypriot Paralympic spirit.”
The exhibition presents portraits of 14 Para athletes of Cyprus. The campaign has reached more than 100,000 people on social media and more than 50,000 through media outlets, and has been shown at Larnaka Airport, Molos in Limassol, three shopping malls in Nicosia and the EPSI Annual Conference 2026 in Greece. Eleftheria Square is the sixth location.
