A newborn kitten was rescued by a Nicosia District Local Government Organisation (EOA) crew while workers were responding to problems caused by heavy rainfall in Dali.
Three rapid-response crews from the Nicosia EOA were deployed in the Dali area during the heavy rainfall to clear stormwater drainage grates and address problems with the rainwater drainage system.
During the work, employees spotted the newborn kitten lying on the road and moved quickly to rescue it.
The kitten was subsequently taken in by an EOA colleague whose cat is currently nursing.
The arrangement has given the tiny kitten a chance to survive and receive the care it needs.
