Israel is nearing the end of the Gaza war, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a speech at the opening of the new Knesset Museum in Jerusalem, on the site where the parliament operated from 1950 to 1966.
“Precisely these days, when we are achieving major victories against those who came to destroy us, when we are at the end of the campaign and working to defeat the remnants of the Iranian axis and to free all our hostages, we celebrate here our existence and our independence in the heart of our eternal capital, Jerusalem,” Netanyahu declared.
Earlier today, the Israeli prime minister came under sharp criticism from the Hostages’ Families Forum, following comments he made last night regarding the release of 20 live hostages in Gaza. His remarks appeared to ignore those who remain captive and have been declared dead by Israel.
