The Cyprus National Guard took part in the multinational joint exercise Medousa 14/2025, held in the maritime area off Alexandria, Egypt, from 16 to 26 November.
The Ministry of Defence announced that air and naval assets plus special operations units from Cyprus, Greece, Egypt, France and Saudi Arabia participated.
Cyprus contributed the open-sea patrol vessel IOANNIDIS, an Underwater Demolition Team from Naval Command and a Special Forces Team from Raider Command.
On Tuesday 25 November 2025 the final phase coincided with Distinguished Visitors Day (DV-Day). National Guard Chief Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou attended for the Republic of Cyprus, accompanied by Naval Commander Captain Minas Solomonides.
The Medousa 14/2025 exercise upgrades interoperability and cooperation among the participating armed forces at operational and tactical levels. It also enhances the ability to coordinate joint actions through planning and conducting a wide range of air-naval operations, the announcement concluded.
