Joint training strengthens military cooperation

A Cyprus-France exercise involving personnel from the National Guard and the French Armed Forces has been conducted as part of bilateral military cooperation between Cyprus and France.

The training focused on addressing modern threats, improving interoperability, and enhancing operational readiness in realistic conditions.

Tactical drills and modern threat response

According to an announcement by the Cyprus National Guard General Staff (GEEF), the Cyprus-France exercise included a small-scale tactical field exercise as well as specialised training on countering contemporary security challenges.

The activities formed part of the Cyprus–France Bilateral Military Cooperation Programme and aimed to strengthen practical coordination between the two armed forces.

Knowledge exchange and operational readiness

The exercise promoted the exchange of expertise between Cyprus and France, further reinforcing defence ties and cooperation.

Officials noted that the Cyprus-France exercise enhances the National Guard’s ability to respond effectively under operational conditions while improving overall readiness in line with modern military requirements.

Strengthening bilateral defence ties

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to deepen military collaboration between Cyprus and France, particularly in areas of training, preparedness, and joint operational capability.

Through such activities, both countries aim to reinforce their strategic partnership and improve their capacity to address evolving security challenges.
