Mostly clear skies with more clouds – dust to make a comeback

Mostly sunny with afternoon clouds

Cyprus weather today will be mainly clear, although increased cloud cover is expected in the afternoon, which may bring isolated showers, mainly over mountainous areas, according to the Department of Meteorology.

A weak low-pressure system is currently affecting the region.

Winds will initially be light and variable at around 3 Beaufort, later shifting to southwesterly to northwesterly, remaining weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slight.

Temperatures will rise to around 25°C inland, 23°C along the south and east coasts, 21°C on the west and north coasts, and 15°C in higher mountain areas.

Clear skies tonight with possible fog

Tonight, the weather in Cyprus will remain mostly clear, with intervals of low cloud.

Later, particularly during early morning hours, patchy mist or fog may form, mainly inland and in eastern areas.

Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light at around 3 Beaufort, while the sea will be calm to slight.

Temperatures will drop to 12°C inland, around 13°C along the coast, and 6°C in higher mountainous regions.

Outlook for the coming days

On Wednesday and Thursday, conditions will remain mostly clear, with occasional increased cloud that may bring isolated rain, mainly in mountainous areas.

By Friday, periods of increased medium and high cloud are expected, with a chance of isolated showers. Thin dust is also expected to appear in the atmosphere.

Temperatures over the next three days are not expected to change significantly and will remain close to seasonal averages.
