Salon hit during missile interception
At least three Palestinian women were killed and eight others injured after missile debris struck a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
The incident occurred in the town of Beit Awwa, near Hebron, late Wednesday night, shortly after the Israeli military said it was working to intercept an Iranian missile attack.
Victims identified
Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that fragments hit a metal caravan used as a salon and other nearby locations.
The women who died were identified as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 17, Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, 50, and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa’ Masalmeh, 36.
Emergency teams rushed to the scene with several ambulances and transported the injured to hospital. The PRCS said some victims suffered critical wounds.
Rescue delays reported
The PRCS stated that response crews faced significant delays because iron gates blocking access to the area slowed their arrival. According to the organisation, the delay affected the chances of saving the injured.
Death also reported in Israel
In a separate incident, Israeli medics said a Thai worker was killed after shrapnel hit a farming community in Moshav Adanim, northeast of Tel Aviv. Emergency services reported metal fragments scattered across the site.
The incidents occurred as tensions across the region continue to escalate following missile exchanges linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and allied states.
