Maria Sakkari was eliminated in the first round of the Monterrey tournament after a 2-0 loss to Croatia’s Donna Vekić.
The Greek tennis star had a disappointing performance by her standards, losing 6-2, 6-3 in just 1 hour and 24 minutes.
Following her early exit, Sakkari now shifts her focus to the US Open—the fourth and final Grand Slam of the season.
