A 59-year-old man has been arrested in Thessaloniki, accused of throwing petrol at the face of a 22-year-old woman and grabbing her 25-year-old boyfriend by the neck during a heated argument that reportedly started over a stray dog.
The incident occurred yesterday in the Exochi area of Thessaloniki. According to reports, the altercation began when the young couple spoke to the man as he was feeding the stray animal. Tempers flared, and under circumstances still being investigated, the man allegedly assaulted the young man and doused the woman’s face with petrol.
The 22-year-old sought medical attention at “Agios Dimitrios” Hospital after sustaining a burn injury near her eye. She was treated and discharged after receiving first aid.
The 59-year-old was arrested on the spot under the immediate arrest procedure and charged with bodily harm.
