Man loses €30,000 in new online scam disguised as GESY message

Police are investigating an online scam that cost a 66-year-old man €30,000.

According to his report (25/11/2025), he received a text message on his mobile phone appearing to come from GESY. The message told him he needed to pay a small fee. He followed the instructions and entered his bank card details, which allowed the scammers to withdraw €30,000 from his account.
