A man was found dead early Friday morning in an open field in Ayia Napa, prompting an ongoing police investigation.

According to Andreas Constantinou, spokesperson for the Famagusta Police Department, the body was discovered around 6:05am on Friday, 20 June. The area was immediately cordoned off, and police officers conducted initial examinations at the scene.

“At this stage, no evidence has been found to suggest criminal activity,” Constantinou said. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Saturday at Nicosia General Hospital to determine the exact cause of death.

The investigation is being handled jointly by the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Ayia Napa Police Station.
