Man arrested after firing hunting rifle at relative’s house in Paphos

Police arrested a 49-year-old man in a Paphos village early Saturday morning after he fired several shots from a hunting rifle outside a relative’s home.

The Paphos family shooting happened around 05:30. Officers who rushed to the scene found the suspect in possession of the weapon.

Three spent shotgun cartridges lay on the ground. Telecom antennas on the roof of the house showed clear bullet damage.

Investigators recovered the hunting rifle from a nearby wall where the 49-year-old had abandoned it.

No one was injured.

The man faces charges of discharging a firearm in a residential area, illegal possession and transport of a firearm and explosives, carrying a weapon to cause terror, and malicious damage to property.
