A person suspected of being the fourth member of the gang that stole jewelry from the Louvre last month has been arrested, Le Parisien reported today.
On October 19, burglars managed to enter the Louvre and, in broad daylight and within minutes, steal jewelry worth $102 million.
The theft tarnished the museum’s reputation for safeguarding the countless works it houses, sparking debate about security gaps at the world’s most-visited museum.
The stolen jewelry has not yet been recovered.
