Rainfall was recorded in mountain areas on Wednesday afternoon (27 August), with the Cyprus Department of Meteorology forecasting isolated showers and possible storms later in the day.
According to the official forecast, locally increased cloud cover is expected in the afternoon, particularly in mountainous regions, where it may lead to isolated rain or a thunderstorm.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, although periods of locally increased low cloud cover are likely, mainly over western and northern coastal areas. Later during the night, light fog may form in some areas.
Winds will be mainly north-westerly, and locally north-easterly to south-easterly, light, at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures overnight will drop to 23°C inland, around 24°C along the coasts, and 18°C in the higher mountain areas.
