“Local and Cypriot”- producers invited to join new interactive app

Date:

A new digital platform titled “Local and Cypriot” is being developed to spotlight Cyprus’s rural producers, including farmers, beekeepers, winemakers, and local food artisans. The initiative aims to strengthen the visibility of small and medium-sized producers across the island.

The platform is part of the European project “Learn about CAP – Inclusive CAP”, co-funded by the European Union, and is designed to promote the values of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) while supporting sustainable agriculture and local economies.

Participants will appear on an interactive map, where they can showcase their products and businesses for free. This includes uploading photos, videos, contact details, and key information about their production. The platform serves both as a marketing tool and an educational resource, highlighting the CAP’s impact on rural development.

Benefits of participating:

  • Free promotion for local producers
  • Direct connection with consumers
  • Increased visibility across Cyprus and Europe
  • Educational support for sustainable practices

Who can register:

  • Farmers
  • Beekeepers
  • Livestock breeders
  • Cottage industries
  • Wineries
  • Local food businesses
  • Innovative agri-food initiatives

Registration is free and open until the end of August via a simple online form, which can be accessed here:

The platform is expected to evolve over time, with regular updates, the addition of new producers, and the future launch of a mobile app featuring notifications and educational content.

This initiative works as a bridge between producers and consumers, enhancing transparency, sustainability, and the connection to Cyprus’s rich agricultural heritage.
