Limassol traffic is expected to be significantly affected today due to the informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers taking place in the city, with police implementing temporary traffic arrangements on major routes.
According to police, traffic restrictions will be in place from 7:00am to 9:00am on the Nicosia–Limassol highway, as well as on the bypass road leading to Limassol’s New Port.
Additional measures will also be implemented between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, depending on operational requirements.
Authorities have urged drivers to show patience, drive carefully and follow instructions from police officers deployed at various points.
Increased congestion in Limassol
From early morning, increased traffic has already been recorded along the coastal road, with congestion expected to continue throughout the day due to heightened security and movement of delegations.
Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and expect delays in and around Limassol and key connecting highways.
Police call for cooperation
Police stressed the importance of public cooperation during the temporary measures, noting that adjustments may be made depending on traffic conditions and security needs linked to the EU meeting.
Authorities will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.
