The Limassol-Paphos crash has resulted in the closure of the motorway towards Paphos from the Kantou exit, as police investigate the circumstances.
According to initial information, a man was travelling towards Paphos with his grandson when a refrigerator they were transporting fell from their vehicle onto the motorway.
The driver reportedly reversed for some distance in an attempt to return to the spot where the refrigerator had fallen. He then got out of the vehicle and, under circumstances being investigated by police, was struck by a passing car.
Grandson not injured
The man’s grandson was not injured. According to information available so far, there was no collision between the two vehicles.
The Limassol-Paphos crash has caused significant disruption to traffic heading towards Paphos.
Traffic is being diverted onto the old Limassol-Paphos road via the Kantou exit.
Police are also urging drivers to use the Erimi exit as an alternative route to the old Limassol-Paphos road.
Drivers wishing to rejoin the motorway can do so via the entrance at Avdimou.

Police officers are at the scene to assist motorists and regulate traffic.
