Just five minutes after midnight on Thursday, police received reports of a group storming Apollon Limassol’s headquarters in Limassol. The attackers threw firecrackers and improvised incendiary devices like molotov cocktails. They also clashed with patrons inside the building.
Officers rushed to the scene.
The masked group, linked to AEL fan circles, moved in an organised manner toward the site for the raid. Apollon supporters had already gathered outside, ready for confrontation.
During their escape, the suspects set a bin on fire and damaged parked cars. Police confirmed damage to 11 vehicles, including smashed windscreens and windows.
The driver of another car reported that unknown individuals hurled a fire extinguisher at his vehicle, shattering the rear windscreen.
The clashes occurred ahead of the AEL-Apollon football match scheduled for Sunday, 30 November, at Alphamega Mega Stadium in Limassol.
Police are investigating the incident as organised hooliganism. No arrests have been made yet, but they are reviewing CCTV footage and witness statements.
