Limassol: 49-year-old businessman arrested over luxury car arson

Following the arrest of a 28-year-old yesterday, the Limassol CID proceeded with the arrest of a 49-year-old suspect in connection with the arson attack on luxury vehicles, which occurred on January 25 at a car dealership showroom.

According to the Police, the 49-year-old, a businessman based in Limassol, was arrested on the basis of testimony and a court-issued arrest warrant.

During a search of his residence and vehicle, approximately €18,000 in cash, two replica firearms, and five mobile phones were found and seized as evidence.

Earlier today, the 28-year-old who was arrested on Monday as a suspect in the arson case was placed under six-day remand. The arson caused extensive damage to seven luxury vehicles, with total losses amounting to hundreds of thousands of euros.
