Limassol: 21-year-old stabbed in the back during violent brawl, two arrested

A 21-year-old man was injured after being stabbed in the back during a violent altercation near Tsirio Stadium in Limassol late on Saturday night.

Police were alerted to the incident shortly before midnight and officers responding to the scene found the injured man, who was taken to Limassol General Hospital.

Doctors determined that he had sustained a stab wound to the back and he remained in hospital to receive stitches.

During follow-up searches in the area, police located two suspects. One of them was found carrying a metal chain and was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

Both individuals were also detained after initially failing to provide identification documents. Police later confirmed they are aged 21 and 15.

The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is continuing its investigation.
