Rising toll from Israeli airstrikes
The death toll from Israel’s airstrikes in Lebanon has reached 203, with over 1,000 people injured, according to Lebanon’s Health Minister Rakan Nasrallah. The strikes, which targeted Beirut and other regions without prior warning, occurred yesterday and represent a significant escalation in the conflict.
Netanyahu vows continued attacks
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel will strike the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement “wherever necessary.” Writing on X, Netanyahu said: “We will continue to strike Hezbollah with strength, precision, and determination. Anyone attacking Israeli civilians will be hit. We will continue to strike Hezbollah wherever required until the safety of northern Israel residents is fully restored.”
Impact on Lebanon
The Lebanese Health Ministry had initially reported 182 deaths and 890 injuries, but the updated figures indicate the toll is even higher. The attacks have targeted critical areas in Beirut and multiple locations across Lebanon, intensifying fears of further escalation.
The situation remains highly volatile, with both sides indicating continued operations in the coming days.
