Periods of increased local cloud are expected at times, initially along the coast and gradually developing mainly over the mountains and western areas.

Hot conditions across the island

Winds will initially blow mainly from the south-east to south-west, remaining light at 3 Beaufort before gradually becoming south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along southern coastal areas, winds may temporarily strengthen to 4 to 5 Beaufort.

The sea will be calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures will reach around 39°C inland, 31°C along the south-western and western coasts, 34°C across the remaining coastal areas and around 30°C in the higher mountains.

Mist expected overnight

Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear, although periods of low cloud are expected along coastal areas.

Later overnight and into the early morning, patches of mist or fog are expected to form locally, mainly across eastern and inland areas.

Winds will weaken and become downslope at around 3 Beaufort, while the sea will remain calm to slightly rough.

Overnight temperatures will fall to around 20°C inland, 22°C along the coast and 18°C in the higher mountains.

Isolated showers possible on Friday

Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all expected to remain mostly sunny, although periods of increased local cloud will continue.

On Friday, the cloud is expected to become more developed over the mountains and may produce isolated showers.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly through Saturday and will remain close to the seasonal average.
