Larnaca water cuts continue over desalination issue

Date:

Supply disruption linked to desalination problems

Larnaca water cuts are continuing today in selected areas due to an ongoing issue affecting desalination units.

In a statement, the Larnaca District Local Government Organisation (EOA) said that the reduced water supply from government systems is the result of operational problems at desalination plants.

Rotating cuts to manage limited supply

To better manage the situation, authorities are implementing rotating water cuts in specific areas until further notice.

The measure aims to balance the limited supply and ensure coverage across affected communities.

Residents urged to conserve water

Consumers are being urged to use water carefully and rely on the quantities stored in private tanks to meet their needs.

Authorities also stressed the urgent need for water-saving measures and warned against excessive use.

Apology from local authorities

The Larnaca EOA apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation as efforts continue to manage the disruption.
