OKYPY orders probe into 42-year-old patient’s condition

A Larnaca hospital investigation has been ordered by the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY) following the deterioration of a 42-year-old patient who is currently hospitalised in a comatose state at Larnaca General Hospital.

Health deterioration after hysterectomy

According to OKYPY, the patient, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, experienced a serious decline in her health after undergoing a hysterectomy. The circumstances surrounding the medical procedure and subsequent treatment are now under review.

Family submits formal complaint

The patient’s family submitted a letter to the hospital’s management, outlining the sequence of events they believe led to the worsening of her condition. The letter prompted the hospital administration to escalate the matter for formal examination.

Investigation already underway

OKYPY confirmed that the Larnaca Hospital investigation has already begun, with responsible officers appointed to record and assess all facts related to the case. The findings will be evaluated as part of the organisation’s internal review procedures.

The organisation stressed that all necessary steps are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
