Police investigate deadly collision in Aradippou

Police are investigating a Larnaca fatal crash that occurred on Sunday night in the Larnaca district, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old man.

The victim, Nikos Nikolaou, 52, from Dromolaxia, died following a road collision on Ellados Avenue in the Aradippou area at around 7:30pm, under circumstances that remain under investigation.

Two vehicles involved in collision

According to police, the 52-year-old was driving his car along the avenue when, for reasons still being examined, his vehicle collided with another car driven by a 68-year-old man, who had a 34-year-old passenger.

Police officers and members of the Fire Service attended the scene to free the 52-year-old driver from his vehicle.

Victim pronounced dead at hospital

An ambulance transported the injured driver to Larnaca General Hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed his death.

The 68-year-old driver and the 34-year-old passenger were also taken to Larnaca General Hospital. The 68-year-old was kept under observation as a precaution, while the 34-year-old was discharged after receiving treatment.

The Larnaca Traffic Department continues to investigate the Larnaca fatal crash.
