Larnaca businessmen deny charges – Released on conditions

Two businessmen, aged 47 and 43, appeared on Tuesday before the Larnaca District Court under strict security measures. They were arrested last Thursday during the investigation of a shooting and altercation that took place on Saturday, January 17, in central Larnaca.

The case was formally filed against them today, and both pleaded not guilty to charges of interfering with judicial proceedings and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanour.

The 47-year-old defendant also faces an additional charge related to a sum of money found in his office, alleged to be stolen. He pleaded not guilty.

Release Under Conditions

Both defendants were released on conditions, including:

  • Payment of €80,000 each
  • Names placed on the stop list
  • Surrender of travel documents
  • Prohibition from entering the occupied areas
  • Mandatory reporting to police stations twice weekly

The case is scheduled to return to court on March 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
