Iran, Israel, and US exchange strikes
The Middle East conflict has escalated as Iran, Israel, and the US continue exchanging military attacks on the 35th day of the war. Overnight, missiles launched from Iran targeted Israel, while the Israel Defense Forces intercepted several threats. Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen also fired missiles at Israeli sites.
Kuwait oil refinery and desalination plant attacked
Kuwait has experienced repeated attacks on its infrastructure. Drones hit the Mina al-Ahmadi refinery for the third time during the conflict, causing fires in several operational units. Emergency teams worked to contain the blazes, and air quality monitoring shows no immediate environmental impact. Separately, an Iranian attack damaged a power and water desalination plant, prompting rapid technical responses to maintain operations.
UAE and Saudi Arabia under threat
In Abu Dhabi, falling debris from intercepted missiles caused a fire at the Habshan gas facility. Authorities confirmed no injuries and suspended operations temporarily. Saudi Arabia reported intercepting multiple drones on Friday, while Bahrain has urged residents to shelter in safe locations after alarms sounded.
Widespread disruption and international concern
The ongoing conflict has also intensified the humanitarian and technological impact. Iran’s internet blackout has entered its 35th day, cutting most citizens off from vital information. International law experts have raised concerns about violations by the US, Israel, and Iran, particularly attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Rising energy and economic pressures
The war is affecting global energy supplies. Pakistan raised petrol prices by 43% and diesel by 55% due to restricted imports via the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, US and Israeli strikes on Iranian infrastructure continue to raise tensions across the Gulf, with President Trump warning of further attacks on power plants.
