Former Cyprus Football Association president Giorgos Koumas has been formally served with an indictment concerning a potential conflict of interest, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
Court hearing scheduled
According to police, Koumas’s court hearing has been scheduled for 20 February.
Charges outlined
As reported by RIK, the indictment includes charges under legislation addressing the manipulation of sporting events and the prevention and combat of money laundering from illegal activities.
The case follows earlier reports detailing alleged breaches of conflict-of-interest rules. Koumas’s legal team has commented on the proceedings but did not disclose specific defence arguments.
