Kataklysmos 2025: What’s on across Cyprus this weekend

Coastal towns across Cyprus are preparing to celebrate Kataklysmos 2025 with music, dancing and tradition-packed festivities. From 6–11 June, the island will host concerts, food festivals, cultural showcases and fireworks- all with free entry. Here’s your guide to the biggest events happening this weekend:

Larnaca

Larnaca will hold six days of celebrations from 6–11 June, with performances across two seaside stages at Europe Square and Kimonos Square. The programme includes poetry, satire, children’s theatre, and top musical acts. Highlights include Elena Paparizou, Giorgos Margaritis, Lena Zevgara, Giannis Margaris, and traditional acts like Michalis Violaris and Michalis Tterlikkas. Shadow theatre performances of Karagiozis will take place at the medieval castle garden 6–9 June.

Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa’s “Festival of the Sea” (7–9 June) will combine food, folklore, and live music. Big-name concerts include Giorgos Sampanis (8 June) and Kelly Kelekidou (7 June). There’ll also be traditional Cypriot dancing, boat rides with the ceremonial blessing of the sea, fish grilling, poetry competitions, and craft exhibitions.

Protaras – Deryneia

Fig Tree Bay will host a major concert on 8 June with Yiannis Ploutarchos, Giorgos Kakosaios and Katerina. On 6 June, the Strawberry Festival returns to Deryneia with Peggy Zina, dance performances and strawberry-inspired dishes. A traditional music night and poetry readings will follow on 7 June.

Limassol

Limassol’s seafront will come alive from 7–9 June with cultural events, including folk dancing, shadow theatre and sea cruises. Highlights include a concert tribute to Manolis Hiotis on 7 June, and a folk night with Angelos Dionysiou and Petros Imvrios on 9 June.

Paphos

Paphos will host four days of festivities (6–9 June) at the Medieval Castle square and Municipal Baths. The schedule includes folk dancing, shadow theatre, sea games, and traditional concerts featuring Michalis Violaris and more. Monday includes a children’s art workshop and a folk music finale.

Polis Chrysochous

At the charming Latchi harbour, 7–9 June will bring live concerts, sea-themed entertainment and summer fun. Panos Kalidis headlines on 8 June, while Stelios Konstantinou and Giota Karra feature on the surrounding nights.

All events are free and open to the public. Whether you’re into music, tradition or just seaside celebration, Kataklysmos 2025 promises something for everyone.
