Josie Christodoulou leads EmpowerMed DEI Committee

Commissioner for Gender Equality, Josie Christodoulou, has been appointed as Head of the EmpowerMed Women Network Executive Committee for “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion”, her Office announced on Thursday. The Commissioner will visit Egypt on 16 February 2025, to address the EmpowerMed launch event in Cairo.

“The leading role assigned to the Commissioner for Gender Equality in the network’s executive committee constitutes an acknowledgement of the Cypriot government’s action to promote gender equality in all areas,” the Office notes.

The EmpowerMed Women network is an initiative of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF).

The network’s mission is to promote gender equality and diversity in the energy sector, enhance women’s representation in decision-making roles and create a supportive community that enhances networking and mentoring opportunities for women in the gas and energy sectors.
