Israeli Defense Forces announced today they shot dead a car driver trying to ram soldiers near Nablus in the occupied West Bank. Incident occurred in the Einabus area during operations. Soldiers fired and neutralized the attacker immediately.
Palestinian sources identified the 20-year-old Kays Sami Jaser Alan as killed between the Einabus and Auwarta communities.
Palestinian reports confirm casualties
Palestinian Red Crescent provided first aid to three injured near the targeted vehicle hit by Israeli gunfire. No further details on their conditions were released.
The event follows recent Palestinian car ramming and stabbing killing a 68-year-old Israeli and an 18-year-old woman in northern Israel.
Escalating violence context
Israeli army raided Jenin in the West Bank, the birthplace of the attacker, arresting his father and brothers. Multiple Palestinian attacks surged in Israel post-Hamas’ October 7, 2023, massacre, sparking Gaza war.
Over 1,000 Palestinians, including civilians, have been killed by Israeli soldiers or settlers in the West Bank since the 1967 occupation, per AFP citing Palestinian Authority data. At least 44 Israelis, soldiers and civilians, died in Palestinian attacks or operations, per Israeli figures.
