Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz stated today that there will be no calm in Lebanon until Israel obtains full security guarantees.
Speaking before the Knesset, Katz declared that Israel will not tolerate any threat to residents of its northern communities. He vowed that maximum pressure will continue and intensify.
Katz pointed to Sunday’s elimination of a senior Hezbollah military commander in Beirut as proof of Israel’s determination.
“There will be no calm in Beirut and no order or stability in Lebanon as long as there are no guarantees for the security of the State of Israel,” Katz added.
Israel has stepped up its military operations in Lebanon in recent weeks, even after the ceasefire agreement took effect.
