Israel Doha strike targets senior Hamas officials in Qatar

Date:

A series of powerful explosions shook Doha this afternoon in what Israeli sources confirmed was an Israel Doha strike targeting senior Hamas officials allegedly sheltering in Qatar.

The blasts occurred in the Katara district shortly before 16:00 local time. Witnesses reported hearing between 12 and 15 large explosions, followed by heavy smoke rising over the area.

According to Israeli media and sources cited by Axios, the operation was aimed at eliminating senior Hamas leadership figures believed to be in Doha. While details remain limited, the scale of the explosions suggests a significant military operation carried out on Qatari territory.

This marks a major escalation, as Qatar has long played a role as both host and mediator in regional conflicts. The Israel Doha strike is expected to trigger diplomatic fallout across the Middle East and beyond, given the sensitive geopolitical implications of targeting Hamas leaders in a Gulf state.

Footage circulating on social media shows plumes of smoke and debris in the aftermath of the explosions in Katara.

Further updates are expected as both Israel and Qatar respond to the incident.
