Target warning issued

On Sunday, the head of the Iranian Navy, Shahram Irani, warned that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier could become a target if it comes within range of Iranian forces.

Retaliation for Dena

“Once the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group enters firing range, we will avenge the blood of the martyrs from the warship Dena by launching various surface-to-surface missiles,” Irani said, according to state television.

The statement refers to an Iranian frigate sunk by US forces on 4 March.
