A new mural has appeared in Enghelab Square, central Tehran, warning the United States against launching a military strike on Iran.
The artwork depicts damaged planes on an aircraft carrier’s flight deck, accompanied by the slogan: “If you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind” in Farsi and English.
State authorities regularly update murals in the square for national occasions and official gatherings.

US military presence in the region
The mural comes as a US aircraft carrier and other warships move toward the Middle East. President Donald Trump said the fleet is deployed “just in case” military action is needed.
“We have a massive fleet heading in that direction and maybe we won’t have to use it,” Trump said on Thursday.
He also urged Iranian protesters, who have faced deadly crackdowns by Tehran’s forces, to continue demonstrating, promising that “help is on the way.”
Tensions remain high
Trump warned that any US strike on Iran would make last June’s US attacks on Iranian nuclear sites “look like peanuts.”
Iranian officials have said any military action would be treated “as an all-out war against us.”
The US military has previously sent additional forces to the region during periods of tension. Last year, a major build-up preceded airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear programme.
Protests and claims
Although thousands of Iranians have been killed or arrested in recent protests, no large demonstrations have occurred for several days.
Trump recently claimed Tehran had halted the executions of about 800 arrested protesters, a statement Iran’s top prosecutor called “completely false.”
