Dynamic, targeted preventive Police operations continued last night with enhanced presence at key urban spots, aiming to deter serious crime, protect citizens, and secure public order.
Police arrested seven persons island-wide during these operations.
In Paphos province, four persons arrested under court warrants in an animal welfare investigation case, plus one for residential burglary.
Limassol assault and weapons cases
In Limassol province, two persons arrested for offences including:
- Assault on police officer, resisting lawful arrest, public abuse, causing alarm.
- Possession of offensive weapon and illegal property possession.
Controls and traffic enforcement
Extensive checks covered numerous premises to preempt and suppress violations promptly.
Over 370 road checks yielded more than 70 traffic complaints.
Traffic probes saw four vehicles impounded; controls uncovered one stolen motorcycle.
Ongoing preventive strategy
These actions form part of Police’s broad, continuous, intensified prevention plan featuring increased presence, targeted checks, and swift action across all provinces to prevent crime and boost public safety sense.
