Injured man found in Limassol

The Police are investigating an assault case involving a 29-year-old man who was discovered injured at approximately 1:10 am today in an abandoned building in Limassol.

According to preliminary evidence, the 29-year-old was reportedly attacked by three unidentified individuals while outside the abandoned building. The assailants allegedly struck him on the back with an unknown object before fleeing in an unspecified direction.

The injured man was transported by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a pneumothorax. He was admitted for treatment, and his condition is described as serious but stable.

Another individual, a 28-year-old man, was also found at the scene. He is believed to be a friend of the 29-year-old and was the one who discovered him injured and called for an ambulance.

Further investigations revealed that the 28-year-old has been residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus since 2022. He was arrested on charges of illegal stay.

The Limassol CID continues its investigation.
