Housekeeper injured while trying to escape fire in a Limassol flat

The Fire Service in Limassol was mobilised to extinguish a blaze in an apartment on the first floor of a block of flats in the Zakaki area, while a domestic worker was injured when she jumped from the balcony.

According to the initial report from Limassol Police, the incident occurred shortly after 9 am on Monday, while the domestic worker was alone in the apartment and jumped from the first-floor balcony to save herself.

Police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire, and the woman was taken by ambulance to the General Hospital of Limassol for examinations and treatment of her injuries.

Members of the Electromechanical Service were also called to the scene as part of the investigation into the cause of the fire.
