Heavy rain disrupts traffic in Paphos as police warn drivers

Date:

Heavy rain in Paphos is affecting traffic across the district, with reduced visibility and slippery road surfaces prompting police to urge drivers to exercise caution.

According to a police announcement, the conditions were reported at around 11.15am on Thursday, 29 October, with rain affecting the wider road network in Paphos.

Reduced visibility and slippery roads

Police said visibility for passing drivers was limited, while water flowing across some sections of road was making surfaces slippery.

Motorists were advised to drive carefully and remain alert to changing road conditions. Police also urged members of the public travelling through affected areas to take extra care.

Conditions may change

Police stressed that the announcement reflected road conditions at the time it was issued. As weather conditions can change, the situation across the district’s road network may also vary.

Drivers should adjust their speed to the conditions and allow extra distance between vehicles.
