Cyprus is in for a burst of summer warmth this week, with temperatures climbing to 32°C inland today and even higher later in the week.
According to the Department of Meteorology, weak high pressure continues to affect the region. Today’s weather will be mostly clear. Winds will initially be variable and light, around force 3 Beaufort, gradually shifting to south-westerly to north-westerly at light to moderate strength (3 to 4 Beaufort). The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Daytime temperatures will reach 32°C in inland areas, 26°C along the western coast, around 28°C on other coastal areas, and 25°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear. Winds will shift to north-westerly to north-easterly, at light and occasionally moderate strength (3 to 4 Beaufort). Seas will remain calm to slightly rough. Overnight lows will drop to 15°C inland, around 18°C on the coasts, and 13°C in the mountains.
Looking ahead, the fair weather continues through Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Temperatures will gradually rise over the next two days and remain elevated on Saturday, well above seasonal averages.
