Health & care without borders: From theory to action

Date:

Do you know your right to healthcare in Cyprus?

Migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers are invited to join an empowerment workshop designed to translate legal knowledge into practical action. This session will help participants understand their rights and learn how to safely access healthcare services in real life.

Understanding your legal entitlements

In this workshop, participants will explore:

  • Healthcare you are legally entitled to in Cyprus, regardless of nationality or migration status.
  • Healthcare providers’ limitations, including what they are not allowed to do – such as discriminating, denying emergency care, or sharing your personal information without consent.
  • How to confidently assert your rights when using public health services.

The session draws on findings from the Safe-R project and key principles of Cypriot and EU law, bridging the gap between legal frameworks and real-life experiences.

From knowledge to action

The workshop encourages participants to turn knowledge into action: challenging discrimination, advocating for equitable care, and imagining a healthcare system where no one is excluded, afraid, or silenced.
