Justice and Public Order Minister Marios Hartsiotis described the criticism regarding an alleged cover-up and concealment of facts surrounding the 24-year-old’s death as premature, unjustified, and entirely unsubstantiated.
Speaking on Proino Dromologio, he added that such accusations are not supported by the information released to the public and urged anyone with evidence of a cover-up to submit it to the Police.

Hartsiotis emphasised that he has the support of President Christodoulides and remains unwaveringly committed to addressing the issues within the Police force, which he admitted were far deeper than he had anticipated when assuming office.
He stated that corrective measures will be implemented to address long-standing structural issues in the Police force. He vowed to combat corruption, referring to it as a “cancer,” in close collaboration with the new Police leadership.
