Gunfire reported near village church
A shooting incident in Limassol is under investigation after a 21-year-old reported hearing gunshots near a church courtyard in a village in the Limassol district.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred at around 11:15pm on Thursday while the young man was at the location with two friends, aged 18 and 20.
Suspect fired shots into the air
The 21-year-old told police that he saw an unknown individual at a distance of approximately 70 metres, holding a hunting firearm. The suspect allegedly fired two shots into the air.
The Limassol shooting report also states that the individual was shouting and threatened the three men in relation to the use of firecrackers.
Police investigate incident
Police officers attended the scene to carry out examinations following the report.
The Episkopi Police Station is investigating the case.
